OFFSHORE CONSTRUCTIONS

WIND, VESSELS, OIL & GAS, AND CIVIL ENGINEERING

For a wide variety of offshore purposes, NMH can design and manufacture steel structures according to your specifications. Think of industries such as offshore energy, covering offshore wind as well as oil and gas platforms, vessels, subsea, and civil engineering (bridges, jetty, etc.). The four main markets we distinguish include:

OFFSHORE WIND

As the need for energy still grows worldwide, but also due to our growing awareness of pollution, the solution is more and more focussed on green energy. For instance, wind energy which still is a growing market. The rising dissenting opinion against affecting the landscape lead to more wind farms being developed at sea. The wind turbines of today are getting larger and larger offering a higher capacity.

Building wind farms at sea requires sophisticated planning, design, and fabrication of sturdy steel constructions. Not only for the wind turbines themselves but also the transportation vessels carrying these vast structures.

NMH can provide their service in the development and production of:

  • Sea fastening: frames on vessels to hold equipment or structures in place during sea transportation
  • Storage: structures to store and transport wind turbine parts, f.i. blade racks
  • Grillages: heavy framework foundations to support wind turbines on difficult areas
  • Decommissioning: constructions to support demobilization for platforms or foundations in a safe manner

OFFSHORE OIL AND GAS

Although wind energy is a growing market, there are still many oil platforms that need upgrading, overhauling or, when taken out of service, deactivating.

NMH can provide their service in the development and production of:

  • Sea fastening: frames on vessels to hold equipment or structures in place during sea transportation
  • Platform construction: platform parts such as railings, gangways, cranes, stairs, hanging frames, boat platforms, transport frames, and flare booms.
  • Storage: structures for storing f.i. special containers, racks, and bunkers
  • Decommissioning: constructions to support demobilization for non-functional platforms or foundations in a safe manner

OFFSHORE MARINE

Changing the purpose of an existing vessel may sometimes be a cost-effective alternative to investing in a new vessel. NMH is the partner for companies in overhauling or changing the configuration of a vessel with purpose-made equipment and installations.

NMH can provide their service in the development and production of:

  • Vessel equipment and machines: winches, sheaves, railings, gangways, cranes, stairs, conveyors, hanging frames, boat platforms, transport frames, and flare booms.
  • Storage: structures for storing f.i. fallpipe vessel dosing hoppers, racks, and bunkers
  • Subsea applications: various components such as grillage and heavy framework foundations
  • Sea fastening: frames on vessels to hold equipment or structures in place during sea transportation
  • Salvage: frames, barges or constructions for both lifting and transportation purposes

OFFSHORE CIVIL ENGINEERING

With many civil engineering projects often a (temporary) steel construction is required as a base for further offshore constructions or maintenance and repairs.

NMH can provide their solution services in the development and production of tailored, innovative equipment, offshore constructions, and machinery to perform in projects such as:

  • Supporting structures: for instance to build or repair bridges
  • Jetty constructions: for roads and bridges
